Additional sections: The Trenches, The Dance of Death, War's Harvest, Spring in War Time, Echoes of Old Wars, Women and War, Christ and War, The Ghostly Marchers, The Armistice, Peace, etc. Written by Margaret Widdemer, Louis Untermeyer, Edgar Lee Masters, John Oxenham (William Arthur Dunkerley), Conrad Aiken, Alfred Noyes, Angela Morgan, Walt Whitman, Lucia Trent, Louise Driscoll, Hervey Allen, Walt Whitman, Siegfried Sasson, Robert Graves, Frank L. Stanton, John Masefield, Martha Foote Crow, and many others. Brown cloth boards and spine, gold lettering to spine. Light toning to text, clean, clear, solidly bound. DW not price clipped, illustrated, toned to spine, v shape 2 inch loss to lower rear edge. Chips to tips, short closed edge tears, 1/4 inch chip to head of spine and top edges. Rear DW separated at hinge. Crease to lower edges front and rear cover. First edition, inscribed. Changes in technology continue on, but the tragedy in loss of human life remains the same.
