Sara Crewe has been at "Miss Minchin's Select Seminary for Young Ladies," London since she was eight. With her father being a rich businessman, going into the Army and her mother gone, her father placed her in this 'select' school. Miss Minchin was a tall and large woman, with fishy eyes and cold hands. Unfortunately while in the army Sara's father intrusted his fortunes to a crook. Somewhere through Sara's 3rd year with Miss Minchin, she was advised Sara's father had died. The horrible Miss Minchin took Sara's room away and put her to work, (Shirley Temple's "The Little Princess" 1939, was based on this story). With 6 full page drawings by Reginald B. Birch (British illustrator).
