Decreeing that the Queen should wear them on their wedding night; as the wear of such miraculous jewels would bear him a son, would bring England back to the faith. Meanwhile others including Princes Elizabeth were worrying about the diamonds becoming holy relics, should the Queen become pregnant, and the earrings would be forever out of reach. Many years later a widowed Queen Victoria was also worrying about those diamonds; as her the late Albert had designed the Tudar Tiara and had Mary's earring set in it. Kept safe in the Tower with the other Crown Jewels; until she sent her secretary for it so that she could wear it at a banquet.
