Satirical novel, a sequel to "The House-Boat On The Styx," with Holmes playing the lead character and host to the spirits of a number of historical characters. Illustraed with 23 half tone plates plus frontispiece by Peter Newell (American illustrator (1862-1924). Yellow-tan boards, color illustration of Captain Kidd (in novel), black stamped title, gilt lettering to spine. Spotty fade marks to spine and boards, mild soil, right corner and edge scuffed.
