Hard Cover Very Good Plus The Spy, Cooper's second novel was very successful, bringing him international fame and recognition. Written in 1821 it was a patriotic story of the American Revolution. Taking place October, 1780, in Westchester County, New York, called ''Neutral Ground'' during the Revolutionary War. Beautifully illustrated in color by famous portrait painter William Cotton. Each volume has a tipped in color frontispiece, all illustrations tissue protected. Introduction by Henry Seidel Canby. Red cloth boards and spine, gilt lettering to spines, TEG. 16 mo. All very clean, solidly bound. Various pages uncut. Attractive set.
