A scholarly reference on Burgess vast body of children's stories, with "physical descriptions of each American edition of Burgess's books: a chronology of his publications; a collection of different artists' conceptions of the most famous Burgess character, Peter Rabbit, as well as a variety of book covers and title pages; a checklist of sources on Burgess, and his works; and notes on Burgess books in foreign editions, children's literature anthologies containing Burgess stories, and how Burgess books first appeared in periodicals".
