A macabre Poe like story of a child who becomes orphaned and sent to a horrible boarding school. A bizarre twist to Frances Hudgson Burnett's The Little Princess. Gorey's somber, gothicesque, Edvuard Munchish illustrations to each unpaginated page. Teal blue stiff wraps with dragon illustrations to front and rear. Rubbing of extremities. Previous owners name written to top edge of title page. Few rub marks to wraps. Clean text, solidly bound.24 mo.

Each page illustrated with Gorey's stylized people who come from a different era. Tan stiff wraps with pale green and black illustrations to front and rear wraps. Minuimal soil. Not paginated. A few tiny spots to non text areas otherwise clean text, solidly bound. 24 mo.
