"The Dodges go from Arequipa in the southwestern Peruvian desert to Iquitos in the northeastern Peruvian jungle, down the length of the Amazon River to Bel»m on the Atlantic, south along the Brazilian coast by way of Fortaleza, Natal, BahÃa and way points to Rio de Janeiro, on to Montevideo in Uruguay and across the River Plate to Buenos Aires, west over the railroad line which runs through Mendoza in Argentina and across the Andean cordillera to ValparaÃso and Santiago in Chile, north via Iquique, Arica and Tacna to Arequipa again ... before doubling back to Buenos Aires to take off for Las Palmas in the Canary Islands, Lisbon, Barcelona and finally Juan-les-Pins on the French Riviera". He wrote many novels including Death and Taxes' (1941), 'James "Whit" Whitney', tax expert and detective, which led to other books with Whitney. His most famous novel turned into a film was 'To Catch a Thief' (1952) (Carey Grant & Grace Kelly). He was a prolific travel writer, which he claimed he wrote to support his travel habit.
