Historical novel of the migration West, to the Mississippi and across during the early 1800's. The central character is a Long Hunter, men who went on long expeditions through the heart of Indian country, many times alone. "The actual writing employed in this novel iss noteworth. American Novelist, James Boyd, 1888-1944, novel "Drums" was considered one of the best novels written about the American Revolution, his historical novels were known for their detailed accuracy, psychological and sociological awareness, and formal craftsmanship.
