"Being a bird's eye view of the people, the institutions, the facts, and fancies that attracted the attention and sympathy of Alexander Woollcott in the past ten years." Alexander Woollcott -1887-1943, American author and critic. His flamboyant personality and sharpness of wit together with his journalistic skill, and renowed reputation as a member of the Algonquin Round Table; made him one of the best-known journalists of his time. Drama critic from 1914 to 1922 for the New York Times and later, from 1925 to 1928, for the New York World. He also had a weekly radio show, the Town Crier (1929-42).
