Although a fictional story it is a book well researched on Elephant behavior and accomplishments. 19 illustrations by Jabob Landau, (1917-2001) American illustrator (and a major 20th century lithographic artist). First edition stated. No dw; brown cloth boards spine, dark brown lettering, illustration of Rhumbo to front, spine ends bumped mildly and rubbed. Clean illustrated end papers of elephants. Top stain red. Short closed lower edge tear to page 18. Clean and solidy bound. tall 8 vo, 208 pp. No DW.
